Synopsis of exotic aquatic species present in the amazon continental shelf and adjacent areas

This study presents updated information on six exotic aquatic species (five crustaceans and one fish): Macrobrachium rosenbergii, Penaeus monodon, Charybdis hellerii, Balanus trigonus, Amphibalanus improvisus, Pterois volitans. The research is based bibliographic available in scientific articles published by the Research Group Fishing Evaluation of Tropical Fishery Resources Biological Photographic Records obtained from projects conducted CEPNOR/ICMBio. Currently, M. rosenbergii shrimp classified as an invasive species, P. monodon a detected C. hellerii currently established but there are strong indications that it should be reclassified invasive. barnacles A. improvisus B. trigonus have been invasive, lionfish volitans strongly exhibits advanced invasion process owing to its high frequency capture commercial fisheries.
